Vasse Felix 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon

Post by BobMac »

Under the Sunday drinking notes I noted that I really dug the 2000 of this. So, theory is the 2001 should be just as good, if not better right?

Vasse Felix 2001 Cab Sauv - Strong staining deep purple. Nose stinks of Margy River. Blackberries, minty, oak and some savouriness. Big nose, followed by a big palate. Strong fruit and oak with some fine tight tannins, but nothing insane. This is top stuff, just a little big to approach (for my taste anyways). Highly reccommend to either Felix or Cab fans. Will sit on my other bottles for a few!

Cheers

Is it released already? If so, what's the cost?

TIA

PS Estimated cellar potential too if you can.

Question 1 - Yep, got it at the local
Question 2 - about $30
Question 3 - Don't know, not the best at this, but I'll be hitting mine up in 3 to 6, but I guess could go a little longer.

Dan Murphy's $22 per bottle , Drank a case of it on saturday night, a little different to the 2000, but still very good

The winery is having a case special at $24pb plus free freight. I think the 2001 will be better than the 99
