The Chateau at Nuriootpa in the famous
Barossa Valley is the home of Kaiser Stuhl
Wines . Built in the Baroque Renaissance
style it reflects the tradition and history
behind the Kaiser Stuhl name . It calls
to mind the early German settlers who first
tilled the rich fertile soil of the Barossa
Valley over 100 years ago. These were the
forefathers of the winegrowers who now
back the Barossa Co-operative Winery and
its Kaiser Stuhl wines

This premium Vintage Port was awarded

It was made from a high quality Shiraz grapes from a selected vineyards in the

the opening of the Winery Chateau .
it should be kept for a minimum of five

Hi Jason, yes it would be fine to drink unless it's corked or tainted in another way (possibly through poor storage).
Should be fine.

Probably is worth something since it was a commemorative pack. Even crappy wine presented in a commemorative pack is worth more than it normally would have been - sentimental value, you see.

Keep reading online, you'll probably find more info on it.

If in doubt, try some of the online auction sites - dare I suggest it here - but contacting their head of fine wines by email would be fruitful I think. Frankly, I don't know anything about this particular bottle. But don't just toss it out :) haha

Hi Jason and welcome to the forum

I got 5 bottles of the 69 Kaiser Stuhl Vintage Port a couple of years ago. Three were fine and two were sensational. It will depend on the storage and the cork. If the level of the wine is still quite high in the neck of the bottle and/or the cork hasn't soaked al the way through (they had small crappy corks unfortunately) you could be on to something. I think I only paid about $25 a bottle at auction so it's not worth a thousand bucks. Why not drink it and find out what it's like!

Cheers

Should be fine....I haven't had this particular wine for about 5 years but it was certainly drinking ok at that stage....not worth too much though I'm afraid. The arse fell out of the fortified market a while back....curent market estimates put it at around $16 a bottle
