1995 Astralis TN's?

Post by Shiraz_Freak »

Hey guys been a while,

Just became the owner of one of these, can't find any decent TN"S, plenty of RP but not of the 1995.

The wine seems very overated from what i have read today online.

Anyone here had the 1995? also is it true these wines need 20 to 50 years?

thanx

It's amazing what a basic search with the words "1995 and Australis" in the search box turns up around here:

Not sure if I had a bad bottle but sounds like Craig and I agreed it was pretty poor. I would sell this at auction if I had a bottle ...

I'm not aware of any McLaren Valen Shiraz which ages terribly well although I am sure there are exceptions.
20-50 years is extremely ambitious, maybe twenty at a stretch.

Thanx for that, they're certainly some very detailed tasting notes

Oh yes thats right tried it. was what 3 or 4 years ago. was pretty open knit raspberry licquorice type wine from memory. not what i would call "fine wine". To be honest I would not be surprised if it was past its best. I think 20-50 years is a joke
