Friday Quiz will be at lunchtime today- but here's a starter

Dearest Quizlings

Quizmaster has headed off early to Perisher Blue for a spot of slushing and he left his quarters in the castle looking like, well, normal for him.

So I'll be spending the morning talking the brooms into cleaning it up for me. The Friday Quiz will be posted after the last G-string is folded and put away.

In the meantime here's a quickie, answers when the quiz is posted.

The 2004 Edition of James Halliday's Australian Wine Companion is a graet resource irrespective of whether you are aligned to his palate and ratings. It provides a comprehensive listing of Australian Wineries, contactdetails, cellar door hours and production (and Father's Day is just around the corner).

For the wines being reviewed Halliday also provides a drinking window, and also a listing of previous best vintages for that wine.

Here's Halliday's assessments of the Best Vintages for three wines. What are these wines?
52 56 61 66 67 78 82 86 88 90 92 93 94 95 96 98
66 70 71 86 90 93 94 96 98
54 55 62 65 70 85 86 89 90 91 93 94 96 98 01

Hmm, tricky.

I'll guess the first one is Mt Edelstone
second is Bin 389, and
third, with a long history, and 1989 on the recommend list, it kind of rules out South Australia. So I'll tip
Houghton's White Burgundy

All of the top of my head...

cheers,
Graeme

Too late,

The third is the Wynns Coonawarra Estate Shiraz. I would've thought that 55 would have been a giveaway.

Stand by for the Friday Quiz

Graeme,

If it's a typo it's a typo in the book!
