Brisbane wine dinner

Post by Daniel Jess »

Hi guys

Who is interested in having a casual wine get together sometime?

Let me know who's interested and I'll see what I can organise ;)

Daniel.

I'll be in Brisbane from Dec 20th-26th and would be interested in rejoining the Brisbane mob for a night. That might be too far into the crazy season to organise something though.

Hi there! Sorry, I've been away and dealing with sick relatives for the past few weeks of my "holidays".

Yes, definitely still keen to have a wine dinner with you bunch. I can make myself free whenever suits you lot, so can you all list the dates (it will be an evening affair! 8) ) that you prefer and we'll go from there.

Secondly, it would be good if you list your preferred venues - then I can correlate all that and lock it in with the venue.

Riiiight, time for a Pinot.

I won't be able to attend but recommend Brent's in Toowoong as a venue. Excellent wine service, worth the $10/btl corkage - and the food's pretty good too.

Hope you can get this off-line organised Daniel, in my experience finding the right date to suit most people isn't easy.

Cheers

I'm still keen to go.
Ive eaten at brents (several times)and it is a great menu, and easy for me to get to.
Would be happy if it was held there.
I've attached the link to their website. Menus look good.

So any thoughts on what date?
The 15th is out of me, the 16th is difficult but other than that free (or can change everything else)all month

What about the Thursday the 14th? Looking like Fri 15th/Sat 16th are out, but we lose Tim and Luke if we don't have it next week.

Might mean we take it easy on ourselves!

14th is perfect for me - I'll be leaving Yeppoon on Friday (9th) so if you have a theme or want to try anything wonderful that I might be able to bring along let me know before then. Brent's sounds fine to me too.

cheers

Thursday the 14th would be fine. Just need to organise a baby sitter so both myself and the wife can come. Theme wise, now that we are in a new decade, why don't we go with that theme and pick a decade. 1990-1999 would provide a good selection of wines. Thoughts?

Hey chaps,

There is a small possibility I will be in Brissy for that night, can I put my name down tentatively ? ( I promise I will bring something nice :-) )

I am a bit limited in that decade................. I have drunk everything

Happy to source a varietal or country (if I do not already have it) as long as it is a bit younger...........

Sitter booked so can confirm for two - don't have a huge ammount from the 90s but I'm sure I'll be able to find something.

I'll book today as Daniel must have other matters on. Hope everything is okay Daniel.

I'll book for 10 at this stage to give us some flexibility.
me (+1?)
Chillwrx
Rens + 1
Rednick +1
Luke W
Tim (?)
Daniel (?)
Gerry (?)

Anyone else keen to come along? I am not sure the "theme" thing will get up, but I can bring a 1999 Mitchell Riesling and/or a 1991 Redman Claret if we want to try some older stuff. I think anything you bring will be fine Craig (that Old Garden last time was lurvely) :D .

Can you please confirm attendance so I can finalise the numbers with the restaurant on Wednesday? I'll book for 7.30pm unless instructed otherwise.

Cheers
