2007 REINHARD KNEBEL Riesling Winninger Röttgen Auslese 375

Post by Attila »

Be prepared to be amazed by this Mosel-Saar-Ruwer Riesling. Reinhard and (wife?) Beate are not kidding when it comes to greatness.
Fragrant nose of honeysuckle and acacia. Most amazing concentrated palate that is way above Auslese sweetness level. Tremendous depth and ethereal sweetness, wow!
What intensity! Superbly long fine acid finish.
Will age indefinitely and become a legend in time. Available in Australia and your great Riesling adventure should start here.
97 points, AUD $90

What did you pair this with? Cheese? Fruit tart?

Had some cheese with it last night but this wine is so fabulous and the bottle is so small that I just sipped the rest this morning for breakfast.
Astonishingly good stuff.

I note Gavin doesn't stock it, so I must ask where you can get it in Oz?? Be nice to try something like this.

Nice one will do, be seriously meaning to buy some tasty wine from Gavin for a while now, so could be just the impetus I need. Mind you, the wife and budget factor is a minor issue... lots of expenses this week...

Will be in touch Gavin.. If you see this... Can you get it??

Cheers

Hello

I can get all /any of the Eurocentric imports, indeed, just completed an offer on their brilliant imported Champagnes (Hewnri Billior Rose enjoyed Saturday night was spectacular!)

Anyone interested, just let me know, happy to assist if I can, and forum members get preferential pricings also!

This wine is available. along with most of the REINHARD KNEBEL Range.

Just let me know, always happy to help forum members, and Neville of Eurocentric!
regards

Agreed, actually quite astonishing for a Champagne in that it has real 'Pinot' character there, meaty, berried. It was Champagne, but it was also Pinot, and incredibly intense, on that fluffy 'Champagne' base.

Not a brilliant description I know, but hard to describe

and I can still 'taste' it!
