I initially used Bulk Port from Chambers Rosewood in Rutherglen. Resulted in a great drop. Decided to try bulk from Grant Burge Barossa. Still nice but think I prefer the result from Chambers.

How long had you aged the Chambers port for? I can’t say I was impressed when I tried their ports at the cellar door - seemed too sweet to me. Does it lose some of that excessive sweetness with age? Rutherglen excels at muscats and tokays, but their ports IMO aren’t up to the standard of what’s produced in Barossa and McLaren Vale.

I was very restrained. Left it at least 4 months, with a bit of topping up along the way. I have just added a 375ml bottle of STanton & Killen aged Muscat to the Grant Burge in the barrel. Improved it to my taste, but will leave it another 4 weeks to see how it develops. I decanted some from the barrel before adding the muscat so I can do a proper comparason (an excuse to drink a bit more perhaps).
