Offline in Sydney

Post by PaulV »

Anyone interested in being part of an offline in Sydney - say mid to late September?

Maybe midweek before byo restaurant/bistros get too busy - good food not too expensive. Any ideas - close to city/public transport

Theme : what about 10 year old wines? - I know 1993 wasn't the greatest year in oz - then again not too bad in WA and Hunter  excellent in burgundy and italy. Other suggestions more than happy to discuss here.

Its been ages since we've had an offline so I'd be keen but september is so NOT a good month for me.

Its the good food month so I'm doing quite a few of those things which are on all through the week. I'm also hitting 40 at the end of the month and there will be some commiserations based around that event.

The theme sounds great but if you do it in October, I'd be keen. Not the 4th though. It would be nice to do it on a saturday for a change and maybe if we have a long lead time, this might be possible. These things usually induce hangovers that are not suitable for a school night. Friday nights are also cool for the same reason.
Cheers,
Kris

October ?

Perhaps worth tying in with Robin Garr's visit at the beginning of October ? Don't have definite dates yet, but I believe he's looking at the first Monday or Tuesday...

Cool, Ric. Hopefully you're organising the offline as well ? :-) If so, could you please include us in the loop ? It will be nice to catch up with everyone.

Cheers, Celia

I'd love to participate in something like this but I too will be away for all of September.

Yes - I didn't reply earlier due to September craziness - 2 weekends away, heaps of stuff going on! October's better, although we're trying to get away in the school hols down to Rutherglen/border country, which I suspect clashes with that 1st-week-in-Oct thing.

So, we're interested, but highly date-dependent!

cheers,
Graeme

Its good that we have some players, now all we need is someone to arrange it. As I live outside Sydney and may not be able to attend and know nothing of the Sydney restaurant scene it doesn't make much sense for me to do it. Any takers?

Babe (PLCB that is),

I maybe in town the week starting the 6th October. Have a wedding the following weekend, however as I am likely to spend the next 4-5 weeks in Rockhampton, I am going to push for some leave the week b4. But do not hold your breathe (:)) as I could well still be in the beef capital.....
