Australia Day Wines

Post by seddo »

How did you all celebrate Oz Day ?

For my family butterfly leg of lamb on the BBQ and to accompany - Penfolds Bin 389 2002 - oaky, nice fruit but no where near as powerful as the 98 I consumed for christmas.

cheers

Yeah, that 98 is a ripper. Fox George Cabernet Tempranillo 2005 was my Oz day drink. Maybe not as exciting, but an extremely enjoyable and interesting little blend. Good synergy between grapes and worked well with the lamb roast.

Woops, that was a Fox Gordon "By George" Cab/Temp  Too many wine names to fit in my head.

Hey Gavin, How was the Seppelt 98 St peters drinking? What was the BPP ratio? Looks like it was a great day!

Cheers Elvis

Both St Peters looked pretty good.

My WOTD was the

1993 Seppelt Dorrien Cabernet Sauvignon (stunning)

and the

1999 MAGNUM Yalumba Menzies, Cabernet Sauvignon was pretty good, although still way young!!!

I drank some Australian wines. Catching Thieves chard 07, Metala shiraz/cab 06 and Longhop shiraz 07(last bottle, tempted to order a 3pk). Didn't bother watching the yarpies batting innings after about the 10th over.
