Just decanted a 93 E&E BP Shiraz to go with grilled Frenched Veal cutlets, it's looking fine, albeit pretty mature. Thank god for aircon!

Could be a few sparkling reds around friends pool if this weather keeps up.
Cheers

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)

Turkey Flat Shiraz 01, Plantagenet Cabernet 01 & a few bottles of 97 vintage Mumm( Official sponsours of what I thought was a dry Bahrain Grand Prix :? ).

It has not been red bigot drinking weather in melbourne today otherwise a red probably would have been on the agenda.

Got a bottle of Peter Lehmann Reserve Riesling 98 in the fridge now. Also have a bottle of Domain Dujac Morey St Denis 1999 that I want to drink this weekend. Anyone had it yet?

Had a bottle of Leeuwin Art Series Chard 01 to try but Bert bought his sample to dinner so mine will stay tucked away.

Weekend imbibment

Post by Phil Shorten »

Off to a tasting tonight to try Ch Margaux, Sassicaia, Tignanello and Grange - not necessarily brilliant vintages, so will be interesting to see how the wines shape up.

Tomorrow will be tempted to open a 97 Lenswood Vineyards Chardonnay - purchased for only £6.99. I find this wine to be pretty rich on release so it will be interesting to see if it still has life in it....

Cheers
Phil
