We're in the final stages of building a house so wine purchases have been few and far between lately. However, I did "splash out" on some quaffers on the weekend:

4 x St Hallett Faith Shiraz 2006
4 x Wirra Wirra Scrubby Rise Red 2006
4 x Seppelt Victorian Shiraz 2004

The only one of these I haven't tried before is the Faith shiraz.

Cheers,
Jimmy

Jay,

At USD 26 per bottle, I couldn't resist. I know some people find the 02 a tad porty, but I quite enjoyed it. At the price, they'll make nice quaffers for the next 2 years !

13 bleedin' quid? At that price I'd say it twice too. Nice buying ... :D

Got a Bests Shiraz 04 for my bday. First time I have tried the Bests and it was excellent. Since then tried a couple others and no disappointments. Highly recommended.

Redwine, I have been trying to get hold of a bottle or two of 05 DRC, but to no avail. Seems you have to be a regular buyer of DRC. :( Would you mind if I enquired where you sourced yours from? (Maybe best if you PM me).

Thanks.

Did you get to try any of these NZ syrahs yet Brian? Be interested to hear your thoughts.

I have. I thought I posted something somewhere, but can't find it, I'll dig out the tasting sheet a bit later and post some impressions.

Life's too short to drink white wine and red wine is better for you too! :-)
