Grange Hermitage

Post by Giddyup »

GDay all, new on here and want to know a few things.

1st of all I have a series of grange (1994-2002) and want to store it the best I can possible. I live in South Western Australia and was thinking of getting a small electric wine fridge for them. I did a bit of searching on here and it seems that it would be the G O. I'm going to continue to get further bottles for the series but have budget restrictions at the moment due to a new born.

What does anyone/everyone recommend?

2nd - What would a series of grange go for these days?

Thanks
Dan.

kids are great for putting obsessions into context aye

my guess is a series of grange of that age would go around $400-450 a bottle average in NZ.

but why collect them if you arent gonna drink them would be my next question...

storage. although i am one not to get too uptight about storage conditions for most wines, a collection of grange in the australian heat would get me thinking a wine cabinet of some sort may be a good idea. either that or whack em in professional storage if you only have a dozen or so it could be an economic alternative if the service is available near you

I don't have any intention of selling them just yet, was thinking of either doing that or drinking them in about 10-30 years time (when they are the best to drink etc).

I may have to purchase a small fridge as there isn't any places I can get them stored for me near where I am.
