Just wondering how many here are members of this exclusive club? Just wondering what you are privvy to and how you go to the lunches etc.
I know about the early cellar releases etc just not the lunches and so on.
I have just got mine thats all.

Thanks

Lunches are on (most) Thursdays and Fridays, $125 now I think, but good value for that price. Last month we started with 1990 dis. Black Shiraz and had the 96 BP with lunch, write-up and pics will be in the second-last chapter of Ric's tour diary in about 5-6 weeks. There is about a 3-month waiting list and you should plan on being there from about 12 noon to 5 pm. You can take guests, don't know the limits though.

You also get to use the Stonewallers tasting room instead of mixing with the commoners in the front tasting room.
Cheers

Hey there,

I'm a member too. Unfortunately, I haven't had the opportunity to get to one of the lunches although eventually I will. I think you can take three guests (so a foursome in total).

I think the main difference is you get offered the basket press shiraz mainly (well, I guess you get offered the full range) but I've been a member for quite a while now and I only ever get offered a six pack of the basket press. I know one of my friends who has been a member longer than I, used to get offered a dozen but he doesn't anymore.

And you get a nice little bronze dogtag indicating your status.
Cheers,
Kris

Yep pretty much all of that. The Stonewaller Cellar is a very nifty thing and definitely delivers on the 'valued customer' approach. The lunches have always been well and truly on my agenda and they do sound pretty reasonably priced, all things considered.

Seems a bit odd though - I was on the bog-standard list for a couple of years, purchased a few whites and the odd red then somehow got 'promoted' to Stonewaller status. Experiences of 'getting there' seem to differ a fair bit between peoples.

I generally only buy the BP Shiraz. Therefore, buy it via CD each year. Is there any way I can get on the Stonewaller list?

Seems you need to start out buying from the standard mailing list and then get promoted but you can't buy BP by standard mailer - bit of a catch 22

No, the only way to become a stonewaller is to get on the standard list and then get promoted. It seems to happen reasonably quickly though for most people.

Why only bu the BP though. They have lots of other great gear. The rifle range cabernet in good years is fantastic. The lack shiraz is something else (although I think only stallwallers get this too) and I personally LOVE the alicante bouchet. Absolutely fantastic summer quaffer.
Cheers,
Kris

I just buy a bit of everything and make sure you give your buyers code each time you buy.

I buy Alicante by the carton as myself and my wife both really enjoy it....
