1974 Francesco Rinaldi & Figli Barolo
amazing wine for it's age and price (under $100 US). I have no idea how it was in the days of it's youth, but 33 years added lots of grace and complexity to this wine. Rose petals, spice and long finish.
I cleaned the store and picked all their inventory and would do it again.
while at it, I also picked a few bottles of
1964 Renato Ratti Barolo (about $100 US)
Haven't tasted it yet, but thru the bottle wine looks absolutely clear with garnet red color. My friends come for a visit tomorrow, good reason to pop up the cork, the rest will be shipped on Tuesday
(temp. in NYC will be -6C on Monday)
...oh, but I Love New York!!!!!

First of all:
Israelies are not just Jewish. There Arabs, Russians, Ukranians and many more nationalities and religions living there.
Secondary:
you do what you want with wine, and I do what I want,
or as we say in Russian:
"Kajdy drochit kak on hochet,
a ya drochu kak ya hochu"
which can be translated as:
"Everybody jerk off the way they want it,
but I jerk off the way I WANT IT."
For me, wine, just like the life in general:
take the most of it and HAVE FUN IN THE PROCESS.
Thirdly:
If I used word "love" instead of "hate",
in today's world that might be construed as I am in love with three men I mentioned. My wife might get jelous and I would REALY hate that.
P.S. the objects of my hate don't seem to mind to be "hated"

1964 Renato Ratti Barolo
The cork hasn't survived and just crushed and almost pulverized. The wine opened with difficulties, and the nose of dusty desert. I was preparing for the worst. In 15 minutes the dust has blown off and wine was definately alive one. First sip made me believe it was over the top of the hill, but in 30 minutes it opened up with still vibrant fruit, leather, porcini mushroom and was quite delightful wine. 40 seconds finish, sweet tannins and this baby is still very far from it's eventual death. One of the best $100 I spent on a bottle of aged wine.
