Any one interested in a cheap offline?
Any one interested in a cheap offline?
I wonder how many uni students actually follow the wine forums... Anyway more about myself at
http://forum.auswine.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=34558#34558
Since I am into wine, and getting more and more into it, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask whether anyone is interested in a regular (monthly/bimonthly?) meeting in cheap restaurants (Thai springs to mind?), looking at various wines that are not too expensive (above $30?), maybe some special treats now and again.
So if anyone is interested just reply to this post or simply PM me. For starters I can organise one either this month or next month, hopefully before the good food and wine show, at this nice Thai restaurant in Newtown (10-15$ mains). Up for any suggestions though...
I can supply two people I guess we only need a few more to have a sizeable group.
Hope to hear from interested ones soon
Alex

I'm one of them
Pity about the geographical separation!

Are you at Waite? I was, until the university decided that "withdraw without fail" really meant "fail" and evicted me from my subjects this semester because I'd "failed" (withdrawn without fail) twice previously

Hi Alex I wish you good luck. I am also a student in Adelaide University. I will start on the next semester (July) oenology study. By reading the forum I get familiar with the wine culture in Australia.

I'm in my fourth year of a three year Bachelor of Wine Marketing degree at The University of Adelaide.
The marketing junk is a waste of time - I've done very well in all the wine related stuff, but don't see myself finishing the marketing side of things. I'm looking at sommelier and/or wine making qualifications at the moment...
