Brisbane Wine Club (we need a better name. Maybe a poll)

As discussed at our most recent offline we need a date for our next offline to be held at a Spanish influenced restaurant (possibly Miros at New Farm).

As requested we might widen the range of wines away from shiraz towards a few more food friendly reds and (shock/horror :D ) maybe a few select whites.

Could those who are interested please contact me so we can look at a date and time.

The Gastronauts :?:
We could always start a new or old cult.....The worshippers of Dionysus/Bacchus
How abouts the Swillers

As to wine Pinot and Chardonary sound good.
2001 Picardy Tete De Cuvee Pinot ?
98 Vat 47 ?

Nothing is so effective in keeping one young and full of lust as a discriminating palate thoroughly satisfied at least once a day.

Chill

What's in a name? Nothing unless your's is Peter Nuss (or Anthony Nuss for that matter). Go on....work it out. Hi Peter and Anthony if you are out there!

"Brisbane Winos" seems appropriate for some reason. "Briswinos"?

Or "Cork Pullers" 8) .

How about "The Greater Region Of Brisbane Society For Appreciating Terroir" (GROBSFAT)?

All this Grenache is sending me loopy  .

Michael

PS Don't see how much more "food friendly" you can get than Shiraz - just got to choose your food carefully :D .

May 19th or May 26th seem to be the best options. I just made that up :D - let me know if they are ok.

Miros (spanish) – $48 per person

Bread Platters
Selection of Tapas (huge selection)
Choice of Main – Paella (per couple) or 7 other great selections (PM me for full menu)
Desert and coffee
Glass of Sangria

BYO 4.80 per bottle

I do not think we should nominate a theme other than food friendly wines. Maybe whites too!

What does everybody think?

GROBSFAT does have a certain ring to it.

It's predictable but the first thing I thought of with Queenslanders was Banana Benders, so how about "The Red Benders", or is that just too corny?

Cheers,
Ian

Unlikely to be accepted, but a welcome thought all the same.

The uniform would be a t shirt with 'Random Breast Testing occuring the next 6 hours' on it.

Am I missing something? Did you mean April? Perhaps you did mean May as there are so many holidays in April.
