TN: Hutton Triptych Reserve Chardonnay 2017

Post by Waiters Friend »

G'day

Hutton is the project of Michael Hutton, son of the original owners of Gralyn WInes in Margaret River. I believe a sibling now owns or manages Gralyn. Micheal is an architect, hence the Triptych name.

This wine is made from Wilyabrup grapes. Medium yellow in the glass, and looking bright and youthful for its age.

The nose is a balance of stone fruits (especially nectarine) and citrus (soft lemon), with oak barely noticeable. The oak is a little more prominent on the palate, but doesn't overpower the fruits. Acid is supportive and mildly mouth-watering, and the wine lingers for a while on the finish.

In a good place now, and possibly unlikely to improve further.

Cheers
Allan

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.
