Wendouree Mail Order 2022 ( 2020 vintage )

I just changed my address so I’ve just got off the phone to Wendouree cellars.

Early July is the mail out though vintage 2020 is minuscule. Allocating the vintage will be difficult. Evidently 2022 plentiful.

The interesting issue with this year’s Wendouree saga will be how so the divide up such a minuscule vintage? Are they drifting away from rewarding long term customers customers and including rewarding newbies?

I have received a small allocation the past 3 years but this year just received a polite rejection letter which informed me I will be back on the list next year.
Very skinny year indeed!

Long term customer offered 6 each of 2020 Shiraz, Cabernet Malbec & Shiraz Mataro. $75, $70 & $60 respectively.

2nd year player here, just received this year's nicely worded knockback letter, stating with production of only 25tn that pricelists will only be sent to long term customers, and I will be retained on the list and advised when stocks from the 2021 vintage (yielding 45tn) are released in 2023. Disappointing but expected.

So the hunt for a reasonably priced bottle or two continues......

That's weird - my order form offers Shiraz, Shiraz/Mataro and Cab/Malbec. Are different people getting different order forms this year?

Sorry to hear that. As only a 4th year player (2018 green stamp), I kind of expect to receive the same letter. At least they aren't getting our hopes up with an order form only to have no chance of getting an allocation.

Shiraz, C/malbec, S/mataro...forms are all the same, just a black sig for me, no other markings

I have the same offer for all 4 wines.

The 3 reds available are my favourite 3 and have ordered 6 of each. Red crayon and on the list since the 2006 vintage.

I’m not sitting this one out after checking general vintage quality is strong and the three wines offered are my favourite anyway.
I am currently in Scotland playing golf at the legendary Cruden Bay golf club. Brilliant!

I received my mail on 8/7/22, did not sent order form until 12/7/22, attempted to get 6 on all 3 reds (skipped Muscat), I’ve always preferred Shiraz Mataro over Shiraz Malbec, I still think their Malbec is better by itself.
