3 x 2020 Dappled Single Vineyard "Champs de Cerises" Chardonnay
3 x 2019 Soumah Hexham Vineyard Chardonnay
4 x 2017 Craiglee Cabernet
2 x 2019 Craiglee Chardonnay
3 x 2013 Clarendon Hills Grenache
6 x 2019 Teusner Salsa Rose
6 x 2018 Rockford Basket Press
6 x 2018 Rockford Rifle Range Cabernet (If it's as good as I'm told, I'll be getting more as it's my favourite Rockford wine)
3 x 2018 Rockford Moppa Springs
3 x 2018 Rockford Rod and Spur
Mixed 6 of Noon 2020 Releases
3 x 2020 Tonic Grenache
3 x 2020 Tonic Shiraz

That should do me until well into the New Year now (who am I kidding!!)

Cheers
Ian

30 bottles of Rockford arrived and still not sure I'm done, as tempted by the Rod & Spur, as well as more RR too.
Tonic is tempting but not tried before and a bit daunting ordering knowing I won't get to try them for some time.

I think I need to focus on the 2021 Rieslings for a bit...

Hacker, thought ResApp had been taken over for a billion
With wines like that...getting more foolish by the day...makes St Henri at $90 positively cheap

Bit quiet on purchases this year but:
2016 Loosen Barry Walhalla Riesling
2019 DR LOOSEN Erdener Treppchen GG Old Vines Riesling-Dry, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer - same vineyard as above but whatever
2018 CHATEAU COUTET 1er cru classe, Sauternes-Barsac
2021 RIESLINGFREAK No.2 Polish Hill River Riesling, Clare Valley - hope it's good, I wont taste for some time
2021 RIESLINGFREAK No.3 Riesling, Clare Valley
2018 TRAVIS EARTH Mataro Shiraz Grenache, Barossa Valley

As usual the couriers have me spooked - the difference between the professionals and cowboys are palpable.

How is this label holding up? I tried one of the initial releases and found it decent for the price (something I've long since stopped saying for other Pennies reds). I guess I had an expectation that they'd let the quality slowly slip after the in initial splash, but that's perhaps betraying the cynicism I have for Pennies these days.

I put this label in a group with several other cheapies (Wynns Gables and Shiraz, Metala etc) all of which repay a little cellaring, maybe up to five years. On the other hand, maybe I can't be bothered to do that, spending the time on wines that cost peanuts (in this case $14) and will give you a better standard quaffer in a few years.

Anyway, back to the original question. Haven't had any for a while tbh, but have had a number in the past that have had a bit of age and they have been quite respectable. It's still a commercially made relatively cheap wine, but perfectly respectable as a mid week tipple, pizza maybe :D

Will remain to be seen if it lasts in the cellar

I can recommend the St Cosme Cotes du Rhone as a great quaffer of the same ilk that will repay 4-5 years in the cellar.

For Xmas:
Woodford Reserve Double Oak Bourbon
Woodford Reserve Bourbon
Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban 14 Year Old SMW
Case of Coopers Sparkling Ale (for those old enough to remember this was Australia's first craft beer)
Case of Coopers Pale Ale.
16 x mixed craft beers.

Just need to keep hands off for about 6 weeks.

Half doz of 2019 Wantirna Amelia cab, on the strength of a great showing of the 2005 version.
Also half doz of the 2020 Phase Three Wine Dero Shiraz, partly on some glowing reports from others.
Half doz of 2021 Tyrrell’s Vat 47, and a doz 2019 of Sentio Beechworth Chardonnay.

- A pair each of the latest Mount Mary Quintet & Pinot
- Tyrrell's Private Bin White Tasting Dozen. The price for these is getting a bit out of hand, considering the only real savings v retail are Vat 1 & 47, and I guess the availability of the Johnno's sem and HVD chardy. Hmm.
- Also the standard mixed case offering from Bakkheia - I normally wouldn't buy any rosé, let alone 4 bottles included here but it's a nice enough wine for $20. Much lighter than the 2020, of which I still have one bottle remaining.
- And the usual random bottom-feeding @ Langtons

6 Bests 2021 Riesling
6 Bests Sparkling Shiraz

Another great 2021 Riesling - tried and bought 6 different 2021 Rieslings - will be buying more! One of the great Riesling vintages and not dissimilar to the outstanding 1973 vintage. My '21 Merle arrived this week - couldn't help myself and one cracked - superb.

WineRick, out of curiosity what Rieslings other than Bests and the Merle did you go for?

Buring Clare, will buy EV Buring too, regular Pikes, regular Pewsey, Wilson Watervale and Vickery EV. All have such great varietal definition and lovely 'crunchy' acidity.

Hi Graeme

What are the Bakkheia wines like? And what’s process/cost in ordering them? Their website is scarce in details. Thanks

3x Grosset Polish Hill 2019 ... not sure why these popped up on a French wine site, but since the price is about equal to Oz, why not.

Yes agree, but in 2021 add Adelina, Clos Clare, Pikes Merle, Jim Barry Florita, KT and Pauletts.
I know Grosset PH is a good wine, but too exxy for me, the Springvale is the better bet.

Anyway, can never have enough Riesling
