Hi Rossco, was at the CD on the weekend and attended the siblings dinner at Pipers as part of Cellar dwellers month. 10 Bowen wines on offer from 2003 to 2015, all showed very well.Rossco wrote:Very interested in your thoughts on the 19 Bowen'sphillisc wrote: 6 2019 Bowen C/S

Have had the 2019s on about four occasions now, first tasted October 2020, whilst still in barrel. Very bright, plush wines, great fruit expression, no harsh edges, none of the forward acid that some complain about (for me its a great sign that points to good cellaring). Long lasting fine tannins. Medium bodied, but have the depth to go for 20 years. I have 6 each under both cork and screwcap, will be interesting to compare in the years to come. I have enjoyed bottles of both recently, and in just 9 months they seem to have settled, approachable but really demand time.
2019 is being well supported by the many winemakers I spoke to, I don't think you will be disappointed, at $28 a bottle, very good drinking.
Cheers Craig

Love this region. Gattinara, Valtellina, Bramaterra et al, all producing some super wines at the moment.Ian S wrote:Great to see interest in Northern Piemonte wines, and I will await TNs with eager anticipationRossco wrote:6 x 2016 La Palazzina Bramaterra Balmi Bioti (delivery late August)
Price is still 'reasonable' but no doubt will be discovered by the masses soon. I can see it already happening in Etna

Picked up some 95 MM Triolet and a mixed bag of older Petaluma at auction. Pretty sure lockdown is pushing up prices as there really is not a lot else to do apart from online shopping.

A couple of slabs of Southwark Old Stout. Lovely winter drinking. Meal in a glass. Best stout ever IMO. But at 7.4% it's not for the faint hearted. Hard to get outside SA.

Dozens and dozens and dozens of cases from 02, 12, 17-20, plus quite a few pre 02. Think I need to open a heap of them, plus order a skip...its very likely that is where some/most will end up.
Oh dear a sixer of '21 Drumborg on the way...never mind.

12 x Mike Press 2017 Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon. More than just a quaffer and at $10 today it's a no brainer. The 2009 version was a little ripper.

I think some 2013 champagnes, particularly Chardonnay based ones, will be superb in another 5 or 10 years. The vin clairs back in the day were excellentWAwineguy wrote:Not buying much any more, except the wife's champagne of course, so....
