2006 Roumier Chambolle Musigny: just a brillant village wine. Soaring floral nose showing a bit of sous bois forest floor development, lovely mid palate presence of red fruits and some earth. Just gorgeous in the mouth with lots of fruit weight and fine tannins. Drinking superbly right now. Yum

The Red or White Burgundy thread
Re: The Red or White Burgundy thread
I've had a large number of really good Burgs from 2006, I think it is as under-rated as 2013. Good for us drinkers, 2006's are easily available and well-priced in HK.

A few last night at the American Club in HKG. Celebrating the female winemakers of Burgundy our theme. In my rush to get the train home before any potential disruptions, I left my notes behind. Anne Gros ( blind ) were my one and two for the night I recall.

How was Les Malconsorts?
And did the Tremblays cope in such exalted company?

Re: The Red or White Burgundy thread
another bottle of the 2015 Felettig Chambolle 'Clos le Village" last night. Been thru a case now, only 18 bottles left
I cannot think of a better $35 wine that I have seen, anywhere, anytime.
Stunning purity, lifted red fruits, superb length. Elegant and full of interest. I would love to see how this ages, but the remaining bottles won't see out 2020. Still, plenty of his PC stuff in the cellar which I can start to open around 2025.
This is a perfect villages wine, cheap, accessible from the get-go, versatile and incredibly satisfying. People who think there is no value in Burgundy aren't really looking 93pts. Drink: now-2025.

Mark all wines showed very well and I curse myself as I left my notes at the club trying to get home before the riots.Mark Carrington wrote:How was Les Malconsorts?

HK prices. Probably $100 in Australia
I will give the Barbaresco a run, thanks Jamie.
