A good/smart buy. I had the 2010 blind a couple nights ago. This producer punches way above its weight.

I have two of the 2010s in my cellar. Glad to hear they are going ok. Any indication on drinking time frame?

It's ready for business now, but should improve even further over the next decade.

Indeed, have been buying since 2006 vintage, skipping only 2009, 2011 (unintentional) and 2014.

Price is slightly cheaper now than in 2006 too :D

I had a 2006 a couple of years ago, was just entering its drinking window, still showing primary fruit.

I suspect the better balanced 2010 will go longer.

Not sure if this counts or not, but my offer came in for 2017 Burgs.

Volume up, so prices down ? Of course not..Actually the price of the holy-grail (Rousseau) wont even be confirmed until its about to be delivered...The game is now on..do i order to much, as usually its cut-back, or do I try for more, accepting that sometimes I get the lot ? This is wish list

2 * 17 Rousseau Clos de Beze
2 * 17 Rousseau Le Chambertin
1 * 17 Clos St Jaques
1 * 17 Rousseau Gevry-Chambertin
1 * 17 Grivot Richbourg
2 * 17 Grivot Exchezeaux
2 * 17 Bruno Clair Clos St Jaques
2 * 17 Bruno Clair Clos de Beze
2 * 17 De Vougue Les amoureuses

Unfortunately not Con - this is back in the Netherlands.

I gave up some of my wine before moving over, but I did not give up the allocations. I have not been back for a visit since last summer, but eventually it will all end up back here, so there will be chances to taste if we have a burg offline.

I didn't think so, haven't seen any 2016's from Rousseau yet in Australia.
If I do get an allocation for the 2016's I will most likely pass, prices are out of control now.

By the way that's pretty good wish list, three of my favourite producers are in there.

Cheers Con.

Thanks Con. Unfortunately I cant afford to buy them all, but there is no harm in wishing.

The '16 Rousseau was delivered about 6 months ago in the Netherlands, so should be in the country by now. Neither me nor my best buddy, who has been getting 4-6 bottles of Le Chambertin every year for a while now, managed to get any Le Chambertin as the allocation were heavily cut back. I dont believe its the greatest Rousseau ever, but it may well end up being the most expensive. Can imagine that the importer allocated everything without even putting an offer out.

Price has gone from 250 Euro to 600 in a very short time. Cant blame the producer though - if you flip them you would double your money.

If anyone out there wants to ever get on the Rousseau bandwagon, then '17 is probably the vintage. Neither the quality nor the quantity should be attractive to the speculators and if ever a space is going to come free on the distributors lists, then it will be this year.

I dont how it work here - I see that Domaine Wine Shippers are the importers, but they dont do retail.

With all this talk I just had to take a look too. Holy moly!
The seller will be very pleased to get almost 5 times the reserve.
Possibly purchased as a 94th birthday present for a lucky someone.

Shame you lost out. It’s a lot of money, but I can’t believe there are many bottles this old lying around in cellars. Anyone getting this for $200 would be getting a real bargain.
