TN: Forest Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 (Great Southern)

Post by Waiters Friend »

This is the 'Estate' model and not the premium Block series.

Deep purple in colour. The nose shows a little menthol, blackcurrant and mulberry, along with some spicy cedary oak. Palate is medium to full bodied, and quite flavourful, especially the fruits - lots of dark berries - and some mocha. Tannins are grippy but not dominating, and the wine finishes reasonably long.

A good wine for the price. The Block 5 is a big step up, but also twice the price.

Cheers

Wine, women and song. Ideally, you can experience all three at once.

I believe a significant online retailer has the Block 5 on special $40.
