I'm not sure if it did sell, does anybody know?
TWE still own Seppelt. They ship grapes from Great Western to the Barossa as the winemaking facilities have closed down. The cellar door, tunnels and some function/accommodation buildings are leased to Great Western Enterprises who are now running the show there.
Thanks Ozzie.

Our EH wine group had a couple of weekends away and stayed at the Westgate vineyard at Great Western back in 2012 and 2013.
We went to cellar door at Seppelt which was a pretty good experience, one of the guys was TWE member and organised a private sit down tasting. Didn't think of doing the tunnel tour, not sure why but will have to if I go up that way again.

Cheers Con.

Following on from this thread, I went in for a few things:

http://forum.auswine.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=16185

* 2017 Domaine Dumien Serrette Cornas Patou (6x75)
* 2017 Domaine de Trevallon (3x150)

Also saw they had an offer for Weinert Carrascal Assemblage Especial, an interesting non-vintage Malbec / Cab / Merlot blend going back to 2004. At GBP40 for 4 magnums, it seemed worth a punt!

Fingers crossed I get my allocations...

Hi Michael,

Had a 2015 Dog Point Chardonnay couple of months ago, some wild flavours but I loved it. What's the 16 like?

Hi Will

Not too funky, other than a fair bit of struck match. Pretty full-bodied, with some very approachable acid. Can't decide whether I think this will age over the long term (5+) but definitely excellent in the short to medium term. Get some and try! In a six at VC is about $29 bucks (Gavin doesn't stock it - I checked).

Cheers

I should hope it ages, because I currently have a couple of bottles of the '09 Dog Point Chardonnay. I bought them at the same time I bought a half dozen of the '09 Greywacke Chardonnay and two of those bottles have been fantastic, the second bottle only last year. A friend of mine, to whom I served it blind, described it as "Meursault-like".

A rather expensive month
A case of Wynns Alex 88 2013 Cabernet.
The story goes there were two single vineyard releases in 2013, The Harold and as of last week the Alex popped up.
Wynns have sent some single vineyards releases exclusively to China. They did so with the 2012 Alex...none seen here.
They tried with the 13, however, the message was failed export order and the marketing department said "we found a small stash and are doing a museum release"
Dumb move, would have thought the demand for Wynns in Asia is non-existent (the brand is never mentioned by the TWE CEO, like Penfolds or Wolf Blass) and two, why not take the opportunity to alienate your domestic customers at the same time?

I will try a bottle and if its cooked because its spent three years sitting in a warehouse at Lindemans at Karadoc of all places, it will be sent back.

Cheers

One reason I was happy to re-locate from London to Paris! Although my right to stay here as a British citizen post March 29th is more complicated
