New Zealand North Island Tips

Post by Pej »

Hey guys,

Seems there hasn't been a thread on this for quite a while so I'd thought I'd try get some current information off you good people before I head to Auckland next Friday.

We will be around Auckland and Hawks Bay mostly with a a couple other stops in between. My knowledge of north island wineries is pretty limited outside of Te Mata and Craggy Range so any must visit wineries would be greatly appreciated. My wife wants to go over to Waiheke for a day, so might try fire in a winery or 2 there as well. Although the old threads on here gave the impression it was pretty underwhelming.

Also any tips on restaurants, cafes, wine bars, delicatessens or anything else worth seeking out around Auckland and Hawks Bay would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Brad

Sorry guys, I thought the other thread by Calm was older when I did the search. Ignore this and I'll tag on to the end of that thread.

Best coffee in the Hawkes Bay is Hawthorne Café Havelock North. One thing to watch though is I don't think they are open on Sundays
