Wine Art

Post by RobK »

It's been a while since I posted my last wine art. Sure hope you like this one, it was a real buzz painting it.

Prints are available on an ad hoc basis.

Nice Rob and what's the wine?

Love that Zalto!

That's Chris Ringland North Barossa Vintners shiraz. I had all the fun in the world painting that Zalto :)

The detail in the glass is excellent. I like how the top left hand side of the bottle disappears into the void too.
The actual corkscrew would've been a challenge? You've done well there.
I reckon you'd be a whizz at the 'spot the difference' puzzle in the paper.
Very keen observation. well done mate.

Thanks Scotty. Honestly this painting came together so well and without any real problems and that's why I enjoyed painting it so much. I was sad and thrilled to complete it but no sooner had my signature been brushed on when another project came up with Torbreck.

The void as you call it in artistic terms is a lost edge. Really helps give depth to a painting.

The corkscrew is magic. Never even noticed how the light and shadows formed around it until I propped it up on a table next to my easel. Then I finally noticed it and had a "wow how cool is that moment". I painted the screw with a 10/0 brush which has hairs about 4mm long and 1mm wide... took forever.

Thanks for the complimentsm

I genuinely thought this was a photograph until you said you painted the Zalto. Super impressive, particularly the reflection on the Glass and the sharpness of the corckscrew which I think is what is messing with my perception.

Flattery will get you everywhere Diq. Thank you for the nice words particularly about the work being a photo. It's what I'm striving for in my paintings.
