I cant tell if line up is already fully booked for whites, but looks like Len & I will bring a flight of Domaine Leflaive Pucelles (05, 07 & 09).

Given the list of burg lovers attending I think it highly unlikely you'll end up with a last minute cancellation.

Put me down as a reserve and if you need to fill a spot, PM me. Should be able to fill in. Or if genuinely last minute redsmurf/tiggerk/dave have my phone #. If sufficient notice is provided I should be able to dig up a Leflaive 1er of some sort to join the festivities.

Cheers

Yeah..given the list of attendees I doubt there will be any cancellations unless it is an emergency...

That's not what I wanted to hear!
So I was planning on white and red as per standard
But the warm weather has held up a delivery
Apparently it's coming tomorrow, at least that what the tracking indicates
Otherwise I'm potentially bringing 2 whites :o

I'm bringing '13 Sylvain Cathiard Chambolle-Musigny Clos de l'Orme

Tasting note for help in flight slotting...

The Chambolle-Musigny Clos de l’Orme is somehow the odd one out in the Cathiard collection .. but its nevertheless a lovely Chambolle. The bouquet is offering a charming mixture of Chambolle terroir and Vosne vinification .. its clearly a Chambolle but still the Cathiard impression gives a lovely impression of Vosne. Its offering dark cherries and red fruit brought forward by a lovely minerality. On the palate very vibrant and energetic with the acidity bringing forward the mineralic components in the wine. The fruit is sweet ripe and deep coming from 70 year old vines. A delightful glass.

I hope you are having better luck with these at present than I am. I brought a case or two of the GC Chablis 2007 and started drinking it recently but a number of the bottles have been completely poked.

I was going to bring a white and red but may stick to just the red. I do have a 750 ml sauterne in the fridge I am keen to try. Is a dessert wine too much.

So looking like

1 TiggerK - White and Red
2 Red Smurf - Red(s)
3 Bob the Builder - White and Red
4 Hacker - White and Red
5 Maybs - White
6 Dave Vino - Red
7/8 Len & Mick- White x 3
9 Krusty - Red
10 Rooman - Red & Sauternes
11 Polymer - White

So looking good for balance, around 8 whites and 8 reds and a sauternes (if you want to bring it Mark, no issues here!)

:D

Also for those thinking of bringing their UFO's, you may want to check out the table space here, with bottles, dishes, decanters and smallish tables they might be a struggle to use (if we need 3 glasses for say the Leflaive flight). I might just take my universals until I get a better idea of space limitations.

Well this one will test the premox theory out because it is normally under cork but for the AU market this one is under SC.

I spoke to the restaurant yesterday and asked for extra room on the table as the very fussy diners bring their own glassware. She sounded a little confused by this but said she would try and give us extra room. The table is also now 11.

Excited for tonight! Hope they turn on the aircon.

Couple of 1ers from me, a 2011 M-Perrieres and a 2010 Vougeot.

If anyone is early (I prob will be), let's grab a Champers, beer or water just around the corner at Love Tilly Devine. I'll likely be at LTD around 6.15 if anyone is interested. Start time is still 7pm is it Mark?

Had a 12 Lamarche Suchots with Red Smurf last week, smart looking wine. Domaine has phenomenal holdings, but seems to go under the radar a bit in Oz. Looking forward to the Ech.

Guys just in the last 5 min I am getting a migraine
If by some fluke I pull up this evening I will turn up, but that is a 1% chance. This is the second time I have had this happen on an offline date.

That sucks Dave, I got a lot of migraines when I was younger but have only had 1 in the last 10 years or so. They are very unpleasant.

Hope you feel better soon, if not by dinner at least after a sleep tonight.

Also I will now be bringing a 2008 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne with the 2009 Olivier Leflaive Pucelles just as back up if the GC is corked.

And I am odds on for LTD at or about 6:15.

Excellent suggestion. I was also going to suggest LTD. I have actually asked Gabs, who runs the place and is a good friend, if she would like to pop around the corner and have a wee taste with us for five minutes during the course of the evening. She wouldn't stay more than 5 mins as she's technically at work. I may try and also get to LTD before the 7pm start time to see if she's free to drop past.

Sorry to hear that Hacker, hope you experience a rapid recovery!!

Thanks for the headsup Tim, I'm able to come along if Hacker's decided not to (unsure if that's confirmed yet or not).

Any decisions or calls made on this?

I'm at work in Broadway and storage is northside, so just need to know if I need to leave early to source wine (and decide whether I head north to storage and back, or hit up somewhere local such as Annandale or United)

All good options, just that the earlier a decision is made, the better the wine choices are!

Cheers

With no responses from David or Mark, I'll jump in and say you're definitely good to come along Odyssey. David said he had a 1% chance of turning up, so if by chance he manages to make it, it will be no prob to turn a table of 11 into 12.

Cheers
Tim
