Don't know to be honest... how about some old world stuff? Although it is looking pretty Aussie at the moment, so should I keep with the vibe?

How about...

1996 Cullens Diane Madeline
1996 Henschke Cyril
1991 Penfolds Bin 389

It may be 2 or 3 of us.

Hard to see any disappointment in that lot! If there are 3 of you, you wouldn't have to choose.....

Missed this. Would be nice to try Willard. Shame I don't have anything in the cellar to complement. The only Rizzers I have are way too young.

It may well be that the Drumborg and perhaps the Leonay will be too young still.

Michael, let us know if you have something, I can change or drop one, might throw in something different also.

Hi Dave, I'd be keen to see some old world stuff, if you can see it fitting in with the rest of the lineup. The old world wines I have are limited to a smattering of Piedmont and Bordeaux, largely nowhere near ready to drink, so be keen to expand my horizons.

Having said that, also be very keen to try the wines you've listed.

Yes, I concur. Nothing like changing it up a bit, but the list you have there is pretty good too.
Happy to swap the Signature for something old world (read Rioja Gran Reserva) that is approaching its drinking window. Don't want Dave to feel like the odd one out.

Houston we may have a problem. Apparently number one son leaves on an overseas expedition at 9.30pm on this date and I may be expected to deliver him to the aerodrome.

I mean, seriously, who plans an overseas school adventure and schedules departure at 9.30pm on International Grenache Day FFS ?!?!?

Logistic re-organisation engaged....

Luke - 2000 Arras EJ Carr
Ian and Danny - Marco Cirillo / Kalleske Old Vine Grenache
Rens - 2004 Yalumba Signature or something old world
vovo -tba
Michael - wine and status to be confirmed
Willard - Drumborg, Leonay and Classic Clare Riesling combo?
Rickowa - 2009 or 2010 Craggy Range Le Sol
Louis and Teena - 2012 Jones Road Mornington Peninsula Nepean Chardonnay x 2
Jim and Sonya - 2012 Penfolds St Henri + 1
Dave Vino + 2?- 1996 Cullens Diane Madeline,1996 Henschke Cyril,1991 Penfolds Bin 389? or something old world

Don't forget team - let the restaurant know if you are not coming (7pm 85 Miskin St, Toowong 33714558) or if you don't eat salmon and you want to swap courses (currently we're having the degustation menu of 8 courses - look it up on the site at $89pp + corkage + tips - usually around $100).

14 or 15 at present if Dave Vino is still coming with 2 others; vovo and/or Mick any decisions on vino?

Looks like a hoot

Jesus Luke

I expressed a doubt about being able to make it and you write me off the list - cold, mate, cold. :D

I'll let you know how I get on, but I am on the list rather than off at the moment.

After reading your blog on Marius, why don't you bring one of Roger's wines along? (Assuming you've found someone else to be the taxi driver). Those 08 Sympatico (?) wines were to die for.

I think you maybe referring to the 2008 End Play. We had one at Sprout.

Luke,

Unfortunately I am now a doubtful starter, Lisa is flying back from a few weeks away on the evening of the 16th. I will confirm here when flights are booked and advise the restaurant accordingly.

Apologies.

I am in Luke.

I am happy to bring a 99 Turkey Flat Grenache and a 2008 Marius End Play?

Or a 2006 or 2009 Kalleske Old Vine Grenache?

Or a white? Though the oldest thing I have is a 2008 Petaluma Riesling.

Cheers

Hi Luke, do I still need to let the restaurant know that I won't be able to attend or have you since confirmed numbers?

I don't want to knock a number off the list if I am not on it anymore.

Thanks

I'm still OK with +2, flights booked. I sent my wines up on Monday so hopefully AusPost will come to the party and have them up there by Friday. The girl at the counter was pretty confident.

I'm still good for Fri, and I will bring a Riesling flight. Buggered if I can find the Drumborg in the cellar at the moment, so will sub with something hopefully better in any case.

I will bring a 2004 Cirillo 1850's Old Vine Grenache and a 2007 Langmeil Fifth Wave Grenache. It will be International Grenache day after all.

See you all tomorrow night.
