With baked Dhufish wings served on a plate sized herbed potato cake, tonight I had my first bottle of red in nearly 2 weeks.
Looked red.
Smelled like a red.
Tasted like a red.
You beauty I must be on the mend.
Seriously though, this central Victorian wine is not bad stuff, from its deep garnet colour, through the licorice, violet and blackberry nose, to the intense sweet black fruits, gentle tannins, white pepper and vanilla palate with the reasonably long finish.
Quite a nice way to get back into action.

Davo, been meaning to ask you for some time, how big is the red you're holding in the picture and where was it caught.
I wet a line myself and have caught many reds to 30lb mainly in shallow water, under 15 metres. In fact my best came from just 4 metres.
