Picked up some 2014 Cape Mentelle Chardonnay as encouragement for my missus to get through the birth of our first child. She's due in nine days & wants me to dangle a bottle just out of reach while she's in labor to give her some incentive.

Heywards have owned the pub for years. About 20 years ago I went down into the cellar an absolute Aladdin 's cave. Bought a heap of wines over the years 90 Lawson padthaway for no money at all.

After reading the GrapeMates thread from Dave with their Lakes Folly trip/vertical, I went and bought some of his WOTN at auction.

1996 Lake's Folly Cabernets.

I've had a dry month and will continue to do so.. so my cellar just keeps growing...

A busy month so far. The annual Wendouree order and 3 bottles of 2013 Mosswood cabernet. Also a mixed case of 2013 Cecile Tremblay shared with a friend in Hong Kong, including 2 each of Echezeaux and Chapelle Chambertin. I actually tried her 2013s in barrel in a visit to Burgundy in 2014 and she is a coming superstar (if not already).

Went to pick up some 2013 Burgs on Sat and came back with a few extra bottles

2012 Rings Das Kreuz - Pflaz. This is a Cab Blend (Sauv, Franc, Merlot and St Laurenz) from Germany. Apparently Rings make some of the very best German reds and it will be interesting to see how this compares to a top Loire Red
2009 Grivot Richebourg - Stupid, spur of the moment purchase. Grivot Richebourg gets a lot of very good press from the WA at the moment and seems
to consitently be one of the best wines. Never seen a bottle actually for sale here so....
2012 Saybritz BlaufranKish, Groszer Wein, Austria - These come in 1ltr bottles and look great. Perfect BBQ wine for my palate. Shame its not yet been much of a summer...
This is my church, this is where I heal my hurts.

I tried this at the recent Wynnsday tasting i attended. Personally I am not convinced Coonawarra is an ideal location to make riesling. If you have bought it to drink now then it is pleasant but does seem to lack the acid structure that the Clare and Eden Valley rieslings possess in this country. I also very much doubt it has the structure to cellar long term.

Good to hear! I picked it up, as it's a birth year for my wife.. pretty decent vintage too...Cellartracker indicates its still drinking well, so took a punt on it.
