Recommendations for Barossa visit

Hi everyone

Will be in the Barossa Sunday night and Monday this week for a flying trip - it has been a while since I last visited - what are recommendations for current cellar door experiences?

On the Fleurieu for three days later in the week so any thoughts on MVale and the Hills must sees?

Barossa : Tscharke Wines.
MVale : Yangarra (little bit of a drive out past Mac Flat but a great CD experience). Amazing wines.
Ade Hills : Maybe give the new Petaluma CD in woodside a go. Haven't been but heard good things.

There are zillions of good wineries in Barossa but one I wouldn't miss is Kalleske.

They're by appointment but I'd probably look at:

Brash Higgins - McLaren Vale
BK Wines - Adelaide Hills

They'll be slightly different...

Barossa: Greenock Creek Wines would be a good one to visit at the moment - cellar door is seasonal but currently open (and reasonable amount of stock avail for purchase). Agree with Tscharke, and would add Torbreck into the mix (some of the '12s released recently, and on tasting)
McLaren Vale: Kay Brothers Amery - enjoyed a trip here a few weeks back. Also Olivers Taranga. And in spring, you can't beat a walk around the Coriole property.
Adelaide Hills: Ashton Hills - despite the recent purchase of the winery by Wirra Wirra, tastings are still conducted in a rustic tin shed on the property

McLaren Vale: Samuel's Gorge

Definitely recommend Tscharke, also Torbreck, Lehmann, Laughing Jack (next to Tscharke, Shaun Kalleske is doing some great stuff) in the Barossa. Also, if you can make an appointment, Eperosa in Tanunda
Samuel's Gorge and Bekkers in the Vale (can't do the reversed "k" in Bekkers on my keyboard ... haha)

In the Baorossa for boutique wineries, try the setup at The Artisans. Great small wineries all in one beautiful cellar door. Check out their website for details.

For a bigger setup in the Barossa I'll give a +1 for Langmeil.

Down McV way, I would go for Primo Estate.

I loved D'Arenberg at McLaren Vale and Yalumba at the Barossa.
Both were happy to spend a bit of time with wine novices and both (particularly Yalumba) had some cracking wine to taste.

Another vote for Eperosa in the Barossa if you can organise with Brett Grocke. Fantastic fella and goes all out for a tasting. Plenty of barrel samples and is happy to explain and educate. A thoroughly worthwhile experience. Hugh Hamilton has a beautiful cellar door in the McLaren Vale and the wines are always quite good.

In my opinion it comes down to the style of wine you like as well.

It would be easier to make recommendations based on preferred style...which is nice to be able to say for the region..not sure it was that was possible 10 years ago...

Loved tscharkes place. Loved turkey flat the guy behind the counter was awesome and the Grenache and Mataro was great. Artisans was spectacular. View from Bethany was great. Cheese from angaston was great - will see some more today.
