It's a good article,Brian. A well presented argument, based less on emotion than most.

You should post the link on the Squires board and see the indignation it will arouse. I read a post there where one guy said he was happy to have 10% of his wine destroyed by taint so that he could have the thrill of maintaining the ceremony and tradition that comes with the cork!

The big hump to get over will be some definitive pronouncement about the role of oxygen in wine development. When such info is finally known,and if it does prove that oxygen ingress is not essential,then we can start writing our cork obituaries.

I think Gary Walsh posted the link a while ago. Very little response, not surprisingly. I think a lot (not all) of the pro-cork proponents at ERP are just worried that others will think them barbarians to be unscrewing wine. A subset of the conspicuous consumption crowd...
