Rocky Questions

Post by Brett Stevens »

Hi all

A couple of Rockfords questions.

Firstly I have a few black shiraz (i think from different disgorgements) well a number bought years apart anyway. Is there any way to tell from the bottle what year disgorgement they are.

Would be helpful when working out how long to keep.

Secondly I have a couple of 98 B/ Press I am concerned about them falling apart has anyone got any recent tasting notes for this wine.

Regards

Brett

Brett
the disgorgement date is on the back in little writing.
Rocky reckons leave them 10 years- next year I will try my first 10 year old one.
Some cork variation on the 98 but a tip top wine from my experience.

Thanks Michel

I have found the date but now feel like a ditz.

Brett,

Don't have notes with me, but have had the 98 on a few occassions in the last 12 months. It still has primary charcteristics with heaps of fruit, but the tannin and acid are there in trademark Rockford style. This has a heap of life in it yet if cellared well.

I have also had a couple of the 88 B/Press in recent times, as well as a 91, and they are all holding up well.
