Yes, CyT Don Melchor was (is?) available at DM's as well ... I spent several months in Sth America recently and a marvellous week in Chile doing wineries and wine bars... should have stayed longer! The Chilean wines are DIFFERENT and are much more approachable earlier than Aussie wines (which I love...

Any pointers to finding some of the BETTER reds form Chile in Australia.

Outside of Dan Murphy's - who imports some of the Montes range, I have seen little.....

particularly interested in Almaviva, de Martino, Clos de Lapostolle (Apalta)

I bought severl 6-bottle cases of the 99 St Peters several years ago (A$30 pb) and found it quite nice ..haven't tried for a while .. haven;t had a chance to try to the 1998 or 2002 yet .. but $70+ pb for the 02 -- !!!

Thanx guys, I guess I'll just try them out ... suck and see -- so as to speak ! Not worth the auction route ..and if I'm not sure, I certainly wouldn't dump them on someone else buying from auction. I buy tens of thousands dollars of wines at auctions each year (for myself and a colleague in Bangkok...

Hi, I just discovered in the very back of my cellar several dozen bottles of older white wine and need help to understand if any are likely to be still drinkable or good ?? Just remember airport DUTY-FREE's don't claim to be "PROFIT-FREE" In Australia, as with most other places, wines (not spirits) are as much if not higher in price at the duty free stores -- ridiculous! I buy my Chilean wines in Singapore (of all places) - even with a SING$7 per bottle excise + 5% GST...
