I would like to bring a Wendouree (something at least 10 years old) and a non-Wendouree red as a good comparison, if that is okay... probably a 199X Rockford SVS... just because I know that Baby Chickpea loves them.

Only problem is the pours with 16-20 people you are in magnum territory. Not sure how 2 tables would work if not magnums, do you just drink the wines of your table? FWIW, I was impressed with the stemware at Ripples Milsons Point. Also, the location was good for those on the North and South sides.
I will find it hard to resist a Pinot Noir night, as long as it is not a Saturday or Sunday, and especially with an aged Clos de Beze on the table!

I would start to think about opening, in the case of a special occassion, but no rush.

2004 is an absolutely fantastic year for the Tahbilk Marsanne based on my tastings on release. It is also the birth year of my first born, so I stocked up too, but I also have one on the fridge ready to be tasted now. Didn't get any magnums though. Thanks for the note. Adair

FWIW, he had the 1950 as 1 and the 1961 as 2... with words like "heavenly" and "as good as it gets".

For what it is worth, i typically find white wines to have a different set of minerals to red wines, although they do overlap.
