Re: Cognac recomendations
With that price range in mind I would be plumping for Delamain Pale & Dry XO Cognac. Still family owned to boot. I would also compare to St Agnes XO Very Old Brandy at the other end of your price range. Old World v New; elegant and dry (although younger) v. robust and fruity (and older) cheers ...

Re: Granite belt
That's a very unfair comment about Golden Grove. I've never had a problem with spitting out a wine there, especially as I'm usually driving, and their Vintage Grand Reserve range is bloody stunning. Their Chardonnay is the only one I don't like, although there is no Chardonnay that I do like anyway...

Just don't ask for a spittoon at Golden Grove - they don't like people to spit their wines. Wines are not flash anyway in comparison with Boirean and Tobin - you can speak to both winemakers and they are passionate and hospitable.

Barossa : Tscharke Wines.
MVale : Yangarra (little bit of a drive out past Mac Flat but a great CD experience). Amazing wines.
Ade Hills : Maybe give the new Petaluma CD in woodside a go. Haven't been but heard good things.
Will put Yangarra and Tscharke on the list! Thanks

Recommendations for Barossa visit
Hi everyone
Will be in the Barossa Sunday night and Monday this week for a flying trip - it has been a while since I last visited - what are recommendations for current cellar door experiences?
On the Fleurieu for three days later in the week so any thoughts on MVale and the Hills must sees?
Thanks

4 wonderful old Australian wines
It is not often I get to go through a cellar that has not been touched for ten years - I was asked to find 4 or 5 wines for a 64 th birthday party. I had many options from a non air conditioned cellar in brisbane and my expectations were not high as they wanted older wines - I had to ignore wines 15...

Hi Chillwrx, I had a quick look at the list, and see The Town Mouse is on there - a nice spot. Grossi Florentino also features, and is a Melbourne institution. For drinkies, the list is almost endless... I like City Wine Shop and The Supper Club on Spring Street (opposite parliament). To get to The...

Great dining in Melbourne this weekend
Looking for inspiration- in Melbourne for a conference this week ( for maybe 5 minutes) and staying down to get away from the g20 with a $200 good food dining voucher (which I think is accepted at many places) burning in my pocket. Staying in Collins street but I have transport. Going to the Yarra v...

Dexter Pinot 09 is delicious - pale pink, ethereal/silky but powerful. Great juice.

Chillwrx - I've had quite a bit of the 98 Bin 28, and for my tastes, it's still on the way up. Surprised by Chillwrx's observations, my experience is similar to yours Mike. My 96's likewise still have plenty of life. 2006 Five Vignerons (Kim Tuesner made for Wine Club- Cellarmasters?) - what a litt...

Re: Brisbane Offline - Sprout - Saturday 21 June
I'm in maybe +1. Probably a redman 03 Cabernet magnum + a white from the west. If I get back to as before then it will be a 95 Howard park or jack Mann but it looks like the trip will not happen to the week after.
I could bring a Marchand and burch Pinot but I know how much everyone loves pinots.

Newly discovered producer I thought I would test out.
The willow lake was very good. The others certainly have character.
