Thank you. I wasn't expecting anything "earth moving", however for around the $30 mark, I thought that it had to be worth a try, even as a simple quaffing bubbly. My usual purchases in this range are Ninth Island, Brown Brothers Patricia and Croser, and have never been a fan of Chandon, or...

Cattier NV

Has anyone looked at the Cattier NV Brut recently ? I see it is on special at one of the majors, looked through Gavin's site and he doesn't seem to stock/sell it, so I hope I have offended anyone by my comments about the major with it on special ? Is it good value for money ? I haven't tried it, and...

I opened my first ever Warrabilla Durif last night, and found it was badly corked. The wine in the initial stages was drinkable enough to atleast see its power, but became undrinkable after a short while. Shame, as we had four people over to try it and had a meal ready to go. Replaced it with a Bull...

Well said my friend. Grant was one of the greatest talents in the music world, not just locally but internationally. It is a sad and tragic loss to all Australians and we as music lovers are much the poorer for his passing. As Rossi said, take a moment and raise your glasses to this incredible talen...

Thanks folks, appreciate it greatly. I was always going to go with a muscat, tokay or port, but now having to find one in a couple of days, as the dinner is Thursday night was always the problem. Will contact both my Orlando and Southcorp reps in the morning and see who can organise a couple of bott...

Christmas Cake served with ??

Evening all. I am hosting a wine dinner for the hotel I work for on this coming Thursday night. Just a modest one, hoping to pick up some retail sales as well of course, so cant go "overboard" with the wines. Opening with a Mount Riley Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc, then entree will be with Grant Burge ...

I was the Retail Manager at Pub Mooloolaba for the previous 4 and a half years, and the past 12 months have been the Retail Manager for Chancellors Tavern, at Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast. In March, the hotel was purchased by Coles, and the discussion then was they pressure being placed on supp...

Our Bunya Mountains Wine Weekend.

Each year a group of my friends and I head up to the Bunya Mountains for a wine and food weekend. This year is a bit more laid back than in previous years and I thought I would take a moment to put up our weekend of drinking and eating....we try to drink wines that we don't drink every day, somewhat...
