Re: Wendouree Mailer 2023

There may have been a suggestion if for some strange reason you forget to include your mobile phone number on your order form your request was put to one side (and not filled) as Aus Post requires it. My order was eventually rectified after I contacted Wendouree. This maybe the cause of a few delays...

Re: Penfolds new ground-breaking reds

Well everyone is gushing about them on the wine front and I didn’t want to spoil their party but for me it’s still just too exy and out of my league. There’s plenty of others in the sub $70 I go for . Interesting read all the same.

Looks like Jamie’s our newest Nostradamus as per his predictions of 2/9/20. Still a few of us were thinking the same thing.

Re: October 2020 Purchases

Yep agree. I would love a few of these but $$ is an issue for me atm. I think timing of release is never more relevant than now and I think the period between July and October is a competitive release period - at least for the wines I buy including Wendouree, Marius, Tyrrell’s, Mt Mary etc etc Ohh w...

Re: Marius Wines

Jamie - it all depends on your definition of newbie. In my case for both Wendouree and Marius I don’t consider myself a newbie as in both cases a 15 vintage purchase history I s loyal customer territory (albeit not black signature unlike yourself) in my book. Thought I would add that just for clarity.

Re: Marius Wines

I’m with you Michael. F..ck that. I’m not in the let’s all of sudden look after the newbies. Life doesn’t need over complicating and some systems suit for a reason.

By the way thanks Roger. Great wines and I have many to enjoy over the next 20 years.

Haven’t really lost interest at all but expanded my interest to now include whiskey into my drinking repertoire. I am finding them equally complex and enjoyable.

Re: China targets Australian wine industry

Many have said over the last couple of years putting all your eggs in one basket Is not a smart move. Well TWE (see Penfolds for one) appear to have done that..... at least that what it looks like to the lay person. And on top of that it also looks like they have done that at the expense of the Auss...

Re: Wendouree 2020 Mailer

Jamie - I think I am right when I say you are Black stripe. So there are two cohorts of customers for Wendouree. Those that get what they want and the rest. That’s nice for you and good luck to you but your experience is not consistent with the majority. Jamie - I like your sense of loyalty and note...

Re: Wendouree 2020 Mailer

SJW - I agree With you 100%. Your summary is exactly what I have experienced over a 15 year period. So this year for whatever reason Aus Post delivered the mailer on Tuesday 7th (others received theirs on 2nd or 3rd - Not Wendourees fault I understand). I post my order that afternoon. I phone up rec...

Re: Wendouree 2020 Mailer

George - I have my own feelings on that. Nice people and business and all that but customer loyalty is not rewarded in my opinion with regard to this issue. I was burnt for the 2015 vintage at the expense of newbies. Perhaps they need to record and reward long term customers. I will say no more and ...

2008 Wendouree Cab Malbec - struggling to find a review for this but I am finding this a little porty and on the overripe spectrum. 2008 was a hot year I recall. Most unlike wendouree from my experience.its only early on so will see

2016 Craiglee Chardonnay- pretty blood good. Very rich and tending to be a bit on thse buttery rich style, but not too much. Butterscotch, apple, spice. Really good for mine

I have a couple of the 2002 Eighth Maker which I got on the cheap from an ex Wolf Blass worker. I had it recently and it was pretty special.
