What I also think should be added (though I sure some will disagree) brett can also be a good thing in small doses. It can be complexing in red wine styles and can be a usefull tool. But it is also very hard to control once it is in the winery, wine and finished product. It can be also blamed for a ...

Good post Sean, My thoughts are mostly aligned with what TORB has typed, but with the longer term wines the BEST Cork Sealed wines are better than the screwcaps sealed wines, BUT you will only get 2-3 of these per case (due TCA, other taints and Randox). Whereas screwcap sealed wines will be not see...

Even so, there's some reduced paperwork load to start, and since most of them claimed wine went up when the GST arrived, it would seem consistent to at least make a small reduction in the mail list prices. cheers, Graeme GST is still being charged, it is just the WET which is being removed in some ...

I think also it is to be only on cellar door sales. Retailers would not like the CDS to reduce their prices as to make the pricing well below their own pricing.

PLus the last news report I saw was 200,000 litres, which is 22,000 odd cases.

Ascorbic acid is a powerfull antioxidant and is often added to white wines from warmer regions when the fruit is lacking natural acidity. Sulphur dioxide, as well as being a prservative, acts as an antioxident and is almost always in white wines to some degree, especially those fermented or aged in...

Hi Jezza Thanks for the explanation about the Stevens vineyard. I guess that explains why Tyrrells say they took up a lease with the Stevens bros in 1993 (I think) & why the first Tyrrells Stevens label has only come out in the last yr or two. No prob's and when you ever need more useless infor...

Also, the 'Traditional' Hunter Shiraz will be seen less and less, with the exception of Tyrrells (I think) there are no producers using big old and new oak (1000 litres), most have converted to 220 litre casks and are using American and French Oak. This in itself will effect the style of wine signi...
