My local 'fine wine store' in the eastern suburbs said they only recived 1 six-pack. Compare that to the 2000 of which they still have boxes lying around. Chances are its gone.

Firstly, it must be remebered that there are many jobs in the retail wine industry that need to be filled by casual employees. They are good jobs (flexible hours, decent pay) and many are students just doing it for the money. So its crazy to expect perfect service at every store, at all hours. Havin...

Re: The other grape beverage

Hello Just out of interest, last week I went to a Hennessy Masterclass here in Adelaide. Someone from Hennessy talked us through all aspects, then we tasted the cognacs, everything through to the Richard Hennessy ... quite a remarkable afternoon. The Richard Hennessy averages some 130 years of age ...

The other grape beverage

I know it's not wine, but its close. Is anyone else into Cognac or Armangnac? Personally I discovered Cognac earlier this year and have been wrapped with it ever since. Due to budget restraints I drink VS and VSOP only, but share amoung Hennessy, Remy, Courvoisier & Martell. Would be intrested t...

As much as I love stelvins, and as much as I value this book, I can't help but have the feeling that this book is 'preaching to the converted'. To many times the argument is settled with a quote such as "This is not a fact, but a misconception" only to be followed by NO evidence as to why this is th...

This week

2003 Richmond Grove W/V Riesling - Delicious musk, apples and limeiness that is nice and crisp and lasting. As with the 02, I see this being one of my favourites of the 03's (not that I have had many yet) 2002 Henschke Tillys Vineyard Dry White - What is this? Lemon acid bite that is not at all a p...

Question 1 - Yep, got it at the local
Question 2 - about $30
Question 3 - Don't know, not the best at this, but I'll be hitting mine up in 3 to 6, but I guess could go a little longer.

Vasse Felix 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon

Under the Sunday drinking notes I noted that I really dug the 2000 of this. So, theory is the 2001 should be just as good, if not better right? Vasse Felix 2001 Cab Sauv - Strong staining deep purple. Nose stinks of Margy River. Blackberries, minty, oak and some savouriness. Big nose, followed by a ...
