Re: Sorrenberg 2023 release

Am kicking myself that I didn’t buy the Chardonnay in November ! Oh well. And interesting to see that M&W appeared to have access to it earlier. They still have the gamay and Cabernet blend available.

Re: Sorrenberg 2023 release

Gamay $55per bottle and SSB $48per bottle. It’s quite easy to get onto their mailing list if you email them. It’s definitely not exclusive. I’m new to wine but mostly stumbled across it from a wine store billing them as a quality producer and ‘ the best gamay in Australia ‘ So Rossco you seem to pr...

Sorrenberg 2023 release

Soo sorrenberg just released their 2023 gamay and Sauvignon Blanc semillion. I have some of their 2022 gamay which was quite nice. I’ll definitely get their 2023, but am not sure of their Sauvignon Blanc semillion. I’m throwing up between the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc semillion, or Tyrrell’s 2017 stevens...

Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight

Hunter Semillon is a taskmaster - for the winemaker and wine drinker. The traditional wine style won’t have a lot of appeal as a young wine. Rather you have to be very patient (which I am not) or it has to be released with bottle age. Much appreciated those wineries who do that. But even then the r...

Re: Sami Watch

5 years is a long time ! And yes I’ve read about the Shiraz and Cabernet from Wendouree that is sort after. guess it’s good to get the process started and see how I go. I’m still intrigued to see if tony and Lita will write back to my request. I’m also on the sorrenberg wine list. But yes does seem ...

Re: Sami Watch

Hey so I’m new here. I’ve sent a letter to join the Wendouree list, and am intrigued by the Sami odi wine list too from this thread. Is it similar to Wendouree in that sending a letter or making direct contact with Fraser would help one’s chances of getting onto the mailing list, or is it very much ...

Re: Storing Wine: Bought my first Wine Fridge

I’ve found this too, in that my small fridge is at capacity so I’m limited in new purchases in a one in one out way. But I also know in the back of my mind there’s a few inferior wines in there that can be replaced. And yes it’s annoying that the different bottle sizes become a jigsaw puzzle! Would ...

Re: What unpopular (wine) opinions do you have?

My unpopular wine opinion is that wine takes a lot more effort and preparation compared to a can of Jim beam, lol. Riffing on that - preparing a restaurant quality dish takes a lot more effort and preparation than opening a bottle of wine... so whilst I absolutely have no issue with a 3x markup on ...
