Re: February 2019 Purchases

Been 12 months since last visit and saw the building works of the new SW room then. I had a quick look inside yesterday before they closed it up and i was very impressed. Great room with character; timber beams, old red floor bricks, fireplace...in line with the current SW tasting room but with timb...

The Australian Olive Association is a good reference...i never trust the Italian oils sold through supermarkets, plenty of testing has been done in the past and they are not what they claimed to be. "Extra Virgin Olive Oil" is used on their labels, but they have been proved to be so far re...

All the Noons. Visited the winery on Sunday, like i do each year and sat on the red couch, looking out to the bushy vines and horizon of gum trees, pretending the sublime place is mine...for 30 minutes...great wines and even greater family!

Agree by previous comments that difference of 80/90's vs 00/10's to be influenced by Chris vs Ben. Another thought are the suppliers behind these eras. I think there are about 20ish different sites that end up into BP, there has been the loss of Liebig (i think correct spelling) was lost to resident...

Popped into their new CD today. Wonderful building and CD room inside, not that old but has a wonderful charm with stone and thick beams, fills 100 years old. All wines were available for tasting including the 2 RR from 2011. I thought all 2014's were approachable and of high standard. Agree with Ma...

Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight

Cracked opened a 2008 Kalleske Greenock Shiraz, has been cellared with care. Cork was intact and end-face was dark. Full bodied, deep colour, nasally elegant and wonderfully flavoured with a medium length, more points if it lasted a bit longer. Happy with an uncalibrated score of 9.5/10 pts. This bo...

A friend brought around a 1996 Henschke Keyneton Estate and i loved it. Went to find more in store's but current vintage was 1998...now i'm hooked...(i think the odd sip from Dad's old reds from his cellar was the true seed when i was sub-18 though!!)

Wild Duck Creek Regulars - O to ask

My first mail has arrived from WDCE; letter attached welcoming me as a newbie and an order form. This is my first time in receiving an order form without prices per bottle. Can someone please explain why? And what the typical price would be. Also there are no vintages per wine...??? Thanks in advance.

Noon Winery 2010

I normally take the wondeful trip to MV to visit the delightful Noon winery; cellar door opening for a few weekends every November.
Has anyone been this year to comment on maker, wines, cellar door, changes...etc?

If you are ordering your maximum quota (of 6 per variety) it won't matter, otherwise, take care when filling out the order form. The front page is not in the same sequence as the order form. The Cab/Malbec and CabSav are swapped around and if you didn't notice you might get the wrong quotas you thou...

Griff...i have tasted Kalleske's VP, the first and second (which is the current); i moderately enjoyed the first but the follow up is not my style...i will question myself about the next one coming out soon...i think a single bottle from the retailers is as far as i will go.
