Hey Mate.

The 03 St Peters was stored in climate controlled conditions since release.
This was part of about 50 bottles I had in this auction.

Re: The Aussie Fortified Thread…

I’ve had the 1945 Grandfather 4 or 5 times, last time maybe 10 years ago.
Very enjoyable and variable, it’s a sweet Tawny not very complex and the spirit pokes out a bit.

Not worth the asking price but a great 80th next year.

Re: Right, what are we/you drinking now .. tonight

Hi All. Been off the grid for while, drinking very little. Offloaded about 30 dozen bottles. Yesterday I cooked 50 day aged T Bone over charcoal, also made a few dips and my mums potato salad. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of 1979 Lakes Folly Dry Red. Still very much alive but well into tertiary stage...

Re: So what wines are on the Xmas menu this year?

Christmas Day was the usual lamb and chicken Gyro with a 1996 Chateau Reynell Basket Press Shiraz. A few days before Christmas we had a neighbourhood street party and opened the following. Poured myself a decent glass and passed it along. Started with 2014 Produttori del Barbaresco then 1980 Lake’s ...

I would have seriously considered making the trip for this but I’m going to the Yarra Valley on the 14th. Going to Wantirna Estate open day to pick up my order, lunch and few other wineries, I think Mount Mary might be open too. Haven’t been to Adelaide for few years, might have to organise trip ver...

I’ve got 1957 Claret somewhere the mess I call a cellar now.

The 60 was a recent purchase from Cellarit with a 1997 Best’s TFS.

Yes an amazing Muscat.

Yeah I’m assuming this might be the first release. I’m pretty sure the other bottles don’t have a release date on the label just series three.

Hi Sam and Guys. I recently picked up 3 months of auction buys with some very interesting wine. Some labels and vintages I’ve never seen before. Most of us usually throw away most empty bottles so label and bottle gone. I thought how good it would be to have some kind of a wine library for Australia...

I think Melbourne group need to arrange a weekend to the Swan Valley, Con. Really liked the cellar doors at Talijancich and there seem to be a few others offering Rare fortifieds. Please let me know if this happens - if I am free I'd be happy to assist! A few days in the Swan Valley sounds great, I...

Very nice Craig. Good bottles of older vintages are getting very hard find. On the Best’s website they have got back vintages of TFS magnums on average for $900. Never had old Aussie legend like the 55 Michael. We did discuss the idea of group buying a featured wine like the 55, Peppermint Patty and...
