Re: Wendouree 2021 Mailer

Card charged today. Probably 2/3rd allocation. Asked for 18 including muscat. Hoping to get Malbec and Cab Malb. Been on 11 years. Have a friend who’s been on for same years and same state, SA. He got his order form a week earlier, revived full allocation 24 bottles. Some years I have got and he has...

With respect, points for Wendouree's are absolutely arbitrary. I wouldn't know anyone who buys the wines based on points, nor would it matter what the points were. Think the 2015 was a stuff up for a few older members. Myself included. Was very frustrating. But had no issues following years since seems fixed. Think it’s part of parcel of buying Wendouree! Well that’s what I told myself..

Pretty sure that the 2010 Aberfeldy was the last to have fruit from the Aberfeldy block. Not sure who does but Tim Adams doesn’t have access to the grapes anymore. I know a lot of people who were pretty put off by what happened last year. Hopefully it is a one off in terms of organisation as that is what i heard from an insider. Re: Wendouree 2017 Mailer

Totally lottery this year.

I know a few people on the mailer.

But an example of the randomness this year. 3 of us all joined same year 7 or so years ago. All send back straight away. All always got orders (except Cab sometimes). All from SA.

This year one got allocation and two of us didn't.

Been on the mailer 7 years. Never really misses anything before except occasional straight cab early one. Usually buy 12-18 bottles mixed. But have heard from a few that they have not received anything and its basically run out. Funny given that looking back on letters the allocations were far more ...

It would be interesting to know how many cases Wendouree actually produce. I have a sneaky suspicion it would be more than most would think. Most pieces I have read on it (and there isn't much around) say pridiction averaged 2000 cases. Which isn't a whole lot.

Adelaide. Red Crayon.
I find the timing can be random (one of the joys!) even with mates who live in similar areas, send at the same time, been on the list the same length.

Thanks for passing that on. Always good to hear a bit of information directly from Wendouree. I wouldn't have guessed 1991 would have been the standout year over the last 40.
