Re: Coonawarra shockers

Thanks Carl. I think I'll save my next "session""with the Alex 88 for a little while. I'm all Cabernet-ed out I should also add that Tyson Stelzer was kind enough to host the tasting and put on a great dinner with his Wife afterwards. Fascinating to hear that his sporadic Monday nigh...

Re: TN: 2004 Elderton Command Shiraz

Had this on Sunday at the DM Shiraz expo and rated it the second best on the day behind the 2004 grange. I had a few that day and thought I'd try it whilst sober to see if it was as good as I thought. In the glass it sat like a black hole-real dark... purple ink all the way to the very edge of the ...

Yep; love the colour, overt but not cloying sweetness and spice. Great served very cold this time of year in the tropics. Just finished a bottle of Rocky's this evening, in fact. 3 down 3 to go. Different as well as decent value in the low $20s.

Cheers

Hi and welcome!

You keep the 91 Mirrimar and I'll be very happy with the 89 St Henri. Off vintage but true to style and quite delish. Haven't looked at one recently so can't say how they're currently travelling. ...anyone?

Cheers

Paul, all you need is a headset mike and earphones at both ends ($25) pluged in to the puter, and you're in business. Unbelievably easy, no delay, occasional echo, don't try to talk accross each other tho. It's like the other person is right there next to you. Been using now for over a year. Good st...

Wynns Black label 1998 and 1988

Following the lead of Anthony and Graham B, I pulled a bottle of the 98 on Saturday arvo, decanted in a Zerruti Turn for 3 hours then back into the bottle and re-corked after a couple of small tester glasses over the hour or so until we had to go out to the magnum dinner. Something not quite right h...

Hi Anth,

I'll prod Wizz in the ribs to post some notes on the magnum dinner - he loves doing that stuff, ...and he's darn good too. (Slitherin' Juddster they calls me.) Darn, gotsa fly - go pick up daughter from ballet. Get your licence, kid!

Cheers

Anthony, Graham

I have a 98 on my bench that I've just dragged forward after seeing your post. Hopefully I'll remember to have a squiz on Saturday and again on Sunday, and then post a TV,....that is if we're not too seedy from the magnum dinner with a few friends here in Brisbane.

Cheers
