$195 a head, according to their website. Yep - that's just for the wine though. Omnivore food component comes in at $150 per head. We were there just before Christmas and it was very good. Food was fantastic and the wines were eye-opening for us as we rarely stray from Australian producers. It shou...

Re: Why Wine Ratings are Badly Flawed

it is the universe we are in. Maybe when we all get to heaven, the dear lord will have the perfect system, all our palates will be the same, there will be no bottle variation or any other bias. we can all buy a book on heavens 100 greatest wines and never need to argue its contents. We will be all ...

Hi all, I am guessing that a portion of you would be subscribers to Gourmet Traveller WINE. I renewed my subscription in July last year when a promo was being run to inlcude two free bottles of wine. Rockford Basket Press 2004

Hi all, Someone mentioned a couple of weeks ago that they had experienced a cork problem with Rockford BP 2004. I believe the wine had seeped almost to the top of the cork already. I have a 6-pack of these in my cellar (as I'm sure many of you do) and want to know if we should be cracking them out a...

Online

Fair point by both of you I suppose.

The point I was making is that everything in the control of Auswine was done well - that is, the goods left their premises 20 minutes after I ordered them. How far away you live is hardly in Gavin's control.

Anyway, I say thanks to Auswine....

Online Retailer

There have been several threads in the past regarding online wine retailers - the good, the bad and the ugly. Let me share with you one of the good: At about 2.30pm today I placed an order online with Gavin here at Auswine. I almost fell off my chair when my secretary came into my office at 3.30pm c...

Stonewallers

I generally only buy the BP Shiraz. Therefore, buy it via CD each year. Is there any way I can get on the Stonewaller list?

Seems you need to start out buying from the standard mailing list and then get promoted but you can't buy BP by standard mailer - bit of a catch 22

Re: Good, bad and ugly

I once met a bloke in Northampton, England who told me Northampton was the best place in the world. My natural question was 'have you done much travel?'. His reply 'Nope, never been out of Northampton - why would I?' Fair enough... if it were somewhere other than Northampton! (I used to play basket...
