Deceased Estate Cellar Consulting

Hello all, A neighbour asked me while watching the Wallabies on Saturday night if I knew anyone who consults on private cellars, what needs to be drunk, sold and or moved on. Back story is his father in law has passed away and there is an extensive cellar, I have been told in the past of "boxes...

Re: Penfolds Recorking Clinics 2010

I have to say I took a 82 Grange to the Sydney Clinic a couple of weeks ago. The 9:30 roll call was not to early to being offered a collection of tastings, had a good chat with the wine makers and other attendees. The Grange was perfect for it's age, more tastings and a certified bottle later I was ...

Re: Weekly wrap up- Sunday 27th June

2008 Somerbury Estates Jones Rd Pinot Noir - Lovely fuller bodied Pinot, consumed over 2 nights and opened up dramatically. 2007 Agricola San Felice Chianti Classico – had on Sunday at Ormeggio at the Spit. The bride commented on how it reminded her of being back in Rada in Tuscany and I have...

Hi Guys, As a general question, how do you get on their mailing list? A quick search has had me score a duck egg looking for a web site. I don't mind waiting for a while as I have gone back to uni, although would like to be in a good position once I have escaped again. I have been earning brownie po...

Re: any help for my wine selection

Vintages would be handy. However if it was my wedding: Lindemans Sparkling Rose - been a while since I tried it and it was predominately dry, it is a wedding and the girls love a sparkling pink Brokenwood Semillon - I cannot help myself with this one, it is a favourite of mine and for those who are ...

Re: Hunter Valley Trip - any new/obscure wineries you recomm

I cannot recommend Marsh enough, great wines and a great experience. Just down the road a bit is Tintilla, they can be a bit all over the place but last weekend I was blown away by their high end shiraz. Krinklewood out at Broke. Folly of course, David Hook and in the more mainstream Brokenwood is a...

I don't know about that, given the retail minimum here is $A70ish I know what I would be ordering!

Re: Winelist price shock - a good one!

A few weekends ago at The Terrace at the Newport Hotel discovered 02 Vat 1 for $80 a bottle. Most other things on the list were at least 2.5 the retail price so on a wonderful sunny day over looking Pittwater having some seafood what else are you suppose to do? The bride hates how I spend more time ...

Coriole 2007 Nebbiolo After a Piedmont tasting to star the month off, I've been fanging for more of the nebbiolo grape, but the budget can't bring in the Italians, or the Pannell that I tasted last week - which was glorious. Settled for this one, and it's a bloody good consolation - a feast of cher...
