I think it was the 2006, we were there for the Barossa Festival this year, 2 years ago when I was down there it was just about the highlight of our wine tasings. I have quite a few 1998's in the cellar now after that first trip.

I believe there is a new wine maker at Rockfords, I was there this year to taste the latest release of BP and I was a little dissapointed, very thin and little finish, 2 years ago when I was there I bought up, I left empty handed this year though and I will taste it again before putting any more in ...

I saw it's length and was just going to flick over it, but then I saw Mongheads comments, so I went back to the top and started reading away, I really enjoyed your story and felt your new found passion just like I now have with wine moments

Advise for a tasting night

A friend of mine is wanting to host a wine tasting night, 10 people at $40 a head for 8 wines 3 white and 5 red. most of these people are fairly limited with wine knowledge so he is thinking of offering multiple choice answers to each wine to help the night along. Any input to wines for the night or...

TN Tahbilk 1860 Vines Shiraz 1990

A few weeks ago my wife and I opened a bottle of 2002 1860 vines in a Japanese restaurant and unfortunately finished the bottle before we finished the courses so we had to order another, heavy on the hip but absolutely beautiful on the palate Since that night I have ordered quite a few dates of this...

It was a little sunny when I got home so I enjoyed a Devils Lair 2007 Chardonnay to cool down, then as the sun began to drift towards the horizon I opened a Bowen Estate 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, very nice, smooth drop

TN Penfolds 707 1986

After a hard day at work I thought I should treat myself to something nice when I got home, so I decided on a well aged 707, great choice Nose is really rich with fruit and cedar, and a really nice earthy tone, you can definitely taste the minty chocolate and I would love to open up another one of t...

I go down to my cellar regularly to do a stocktake and re evaluate, I always open a bottle up when I arrive, a quater of the way through I open a second bottle. I nearly always wake up the next morning telling myself I need to do a stocktake in the cellar

Opened up 1991 Magill Estate V Henshcke Mount Edlestone 1989

I opened up 1991 Magill Estate Shiraz V Henshcke Mount Edlestone Shiraz 1989 Both were pretty good, the Mount Edlestone still had more fruit to offer though out of the two. I'm still fairly new to drinking well aged wines, but what I seem to always find is that they rarely have any length to them, m...

I have a 150SG and it's great, don't open it very often, but when I do I know it's going to be a special moment, it doesn't make a sound and I know my wines in it are in good care

It wasn't that bad, not really a lot of fruit left on the nose or palate and pretty much only 2 to 3 seconds of persistance, but still nice to try an old one.

Joining The Team

Hi,
Last night I Opened up a bottle of Lindermans Bin 7200 Hunter Shiraz 1986 and while doing a search for tasting notes and found this forum. It looks like it will be a great place for info and a wine chat, to which most people who love wine like to do
