$2000, $1500, and $958!!

Given these are first 3 vintages I am not suprised. I haven't seen the 73 anywhere for at least 5-8 years.

Here we go again... I went into a fair amount of detail as to why someone would take bottles to a clinic a few months ago: m Basically if it's not leaking and has a good fill level - don't take it (they probably won't examine it anyway). If you are planning on drinking it very soon, again don't tak...

Re: Cellar Air Conditioning (Cooling/Heating) Units

I am currently building a new house and are incorporating a cellar (mostly underground). I am intending to fit a cooler/heater; however, I know little about them, including what is available. the cellar is about 43m-3 and at this stage I am looking at the Fondis C50. Can anyone offer any advice on ...

1996 Krug Vintage Champagne When it was decided that we were going to drink this only 48 hours before a hastily arranged catch-up with 4 friends last night, my anticipation levels were soaring. At its best, irrefutably Australia's greatest pinot, esp. the Reserve (structure, persistence, ageability, complexity and length). Have had vintages back to 1992. The Premium chardonnay is also exceptional - made only in exceptional years (last two were 1999 and 2004). But at these prices, much pref...

Without a doubt Gianna I think it will not only go 10 years but improve further. Everybody else felt it was too young still. A true Aussie legend. Normal caveats re: provenance, old bottles, etc apply.

1998 Pol Roger Champagne Forward and flowery. Very expressive. Gorgeous to drink now with excellent length. Acid id there but not prominent. The level of dosage is very obvious. Very “fluffy” style. Touch of smokiness apparent. Top drinking…not for long term. 91/100 2002 Domaine G...

It's oft been cited that Penfolds year-in year-out makes 8-10,000 cases of Grange (still way below the 1st growths who make up to 30,000 cases). I remember in late 80s when I worked ITB the 5 pallets of 83 Grange sitting in the warehouse = 3600 bottles!). So 400 barrels sounds about right.
