Re: TN: AFWAC - Rockford new releases 30/11/2009

Given Ian's comments about the 06 Rod & Spur, I thought that I had better try one. Can't agree with the descriptors posted - we had good fruit with Cabernet prominent at this stage, good mouthfeel and length.
Any chance that yours was just a "crook" bottle?
Cheers

Re: Wine consumer survey

Hi forumites
Many thanks to everyone who completed the survey which is now closed. > 1100 responses in all, so now have to crunch the numbers. Should be a good story to tell.
Cheers

Re: NEWS: 2009 Adelaide Wine Show Winners Announced

Tasted the Yellow Label yesterday morning and was very surprised to see it got top gold in its class - thought that it was not particularly varietal and certainly not exceptional. Just about fell off my chair when I saw it won the red wine of the show. Guess there could have been some bottle variati...

Hi woodwardbrett and pcjm Thanks for your help by completing the survey. I agree that the question about bottle closure would have been an excellent addition and I will keep it in mind for next time - you try and cover everything that you feel is important but inevitably something will find a crack ...

Hi Carl
Thanks for your interest. Just trying to get as wide a cross section of consumers as possible and the forum members would fit nicely into one of the segments that I think are in the market, so I don't think that it will bias the sample too much.
Cheers

Wine consumer survey

Hi forumites I am completing a PhD at Adelaide Uni in the areas of wine sensory science and consumer behaviour. As part of the project, I am surveying as wide a cross section of Australian wine consumers as I can access and I thought that this might be of interest to members of the forum. The survey...

Mike I don't confess to knowing the answer, but I am doing a PhD project at Adelaide Uni looking at the different sensory properties of Shiraz from 10 different Shiraz regions around the country. Once all of the data is in, we might go some way to providing an aswer. As part of the project, I will b...

There is an Aussie guy from Melbourne by the name of Matt Castle working for Sansula Imports (wine importer) in New Delhi at the ITC Maurya Hotel. I am sure if you made contact with him that he would be able to fill you in on the local scene. Cheers Trent

I tried the entry level Seghesio at a tasting last week and it was rubbish - short, hot and with noticeable residual sugar. I would steer well clear of that one. I agree with other sentiments regarding the Kabminye and Darryl Groom also makes a pretty good one out of the Barossa.

I'm pretty sure that the Casella 03 that won the JWT 04 was from Wrattonbully.

Wine Complexity

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this post. It seems that there is no universally accepted definition of wine complexity and given the product, that is probably to be expected. I will be doing some further research over the next 12 months on the issue of consumers' wine knowledge and their ...

Wine Complexity

I am involved in wine research at Adelaide Uni and this is my first post. I am currently doing some work on wine complexity and would like to explore this topic with other forum users. When you read a review that mentions wine complexity, what does that mean to you? What desciptors do you use to des...
